Review on Micro Swiss Plated Hardened Nozzle by Instructor Niederhaus

Revainrating 1 out of 5

It's supposed to have a non-stick coating, or I don't have one, or the coating doesn't work

I bought this to replace the brass nozzle that came with the Microswiss extruder. I've been typing with a hotend for a while and started printing carbon fiber polycarbonate. This material did wear the stock brass nozzle quite a bit, so I ordered an MK8 coated M2 nozzle for its wear properties with carbon fiber and because it was advertised as having "superior non-stick properties". Well, those qualities didn't exist. I couldn't get anything to not stick to the nozzle no matter how low I started my prints on the build plate. Any small amount of rolled material would get stuck and then snowball as the nozzle simply drew in more and more material until the nozzle was encased in a ball. I've tried carbon fiber PC and PLA with the same results. I then tried an MK8 nozzle made from hardened A2 tool steel and the material did not stick to the nozzle. I'm not sure what I did wrong or my nozzle has a coating defect. I received 2 nozzles from Revain due to a shipping error and both nozzles look the same so I'm not sure if there is a coating and it's just not working or something else is going on.
