Review on πŸŒ€ PELONIS 30" Oscillating Tower Fan | 3 Speed Settings | Auto-off Timer | Standing Fan PFT28A2BBB, Black by Catherine Schwarzer

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Started squeaking after a few weeks but I fixed it

It started making noise after running about 8 hours on a weak night for a few weeks. Not wanting to return it, I took it apart and found that the fan was installed at the bottom of the motor and the rubber ring was installed at the top. The fan spins inside this rubber donut and that's what makes the noise. Either there wasn't enough lube in it or the lube eventually leaked out. Adding more silicone grease solved the problem for now. If this happens again I will replace the donut with a ball bearing which seems to be a MUST. So I'm deducting a star for questionable design. Also, the fan is pretty quiet at low speeds, blows a lot of air at high speeds, and most importantly for me, it has a mechanical switch that lets you hook it up to a timer. Many of these fans have electronic switches, perhaps because they look better, but they don't remember their settings when you turn off the power. Note: The oscillator works fine, but it's a separate system. So if you have the oscillator switch on, it will keep moving even when the fan switch is off. A bit strange but doesn't matter to me as I have everything on a timer.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Can I add something
