I'm not the type of person who usually takes the time to write a review, I figured enough people had done it before. In this case, however, I must take the time to express my opinion. Before I begin, I would like to state that I have not received any compensation for my time or feedback. With all that said I would like to start by saying this is the best cross stitch thread I have ever used. As I say it, I've probably spent thousands of dollars over the last 50 (oh am I that old?) years creating masterpieces for weddings, birthdays, babies, housewarmings, keepsakes, and even items for their fur babies I make no difference. . I admit that the thread everyone has started using is a great thread. I have no problem with DMC dental floss. It does the job it's supposed to do, the colors are great, the durability is there, it's something we've all used because there weren't any options. The problem is that it's very expensive. On average, you can use over 50 colors in a project, and at 0.60 colors, you can spend over $30 on a single thread. This does not apply to fabric, metallics or pendants. We will not talk about the cost of registration. What used to be a $10-$15 gift has grown to over $75. In some cases, the cost of the project is not available to some. Like me, you can use this craft as a form of therapy and have to settle for less because of the expense. Now there are tons of imitators out there saying they are equal or better than DMC for less money. It didn't happen UNTIL I found a thread nanny here on Revane. I have to admit I was very skeptical, they sounded too good to be true. How can you make the same quality as DMC for a dime? Well they are and I support them 100%. This thread is not only affordable, but also has the same properties as DMC. I've taken every single color number and compared it to the DMC color chart and yes in some cases the color can vary slightly from the DMC color but who cares? We don't mix this brand and DMC in the same project, at least I don't. Pink is pink, blue is blue, etc. I hate thinking about how much I spent on DMC because of my skepticism. money down the drain. I've already used up quite a bit from my first purchase from a 447 color pack. Once I finish this review I will be buying another pack of 447. I have gradually phased out the DMC and replaced it with Thread nanny floss. In conclusion I have to say that thanks to this company I am a happy woman. The Thread Nanny made me very happy with the Grammys!
