(Update: My daughter had nightly bleeding during her period that went through the sheet onto the bedspread. It saved her mattress.) I didn't have to test the waterproofing effectiveness yet (I've seen mixed reviews), but immediately it felt like I got what I paid for. It's on the cheaper end, but it wasn't for bedwetting. Out of curiosity, my daughter did a small test with water and nothing happened. She's a teenager who needs it to protect her foam mattress and keep it clean in case there's a spill or something minor happens. It fits the mattress very well, but I don't think this cover will stand the test of time, which is ok. I think it will serve its purpose for a long time. It doesn't add any noise and you don't feel it under the sheet, which is important to her. It's not hot either.
