Revainrating 2 out of 5

Ideal for accessories

Wanted to remove the belt line trim on my 1997 Ford F150. As it aged, it started to curl at the ends and just looked bad. I've watched a few YouTube videos and this rubber wheel seemed really good at removing glue residue as I've tried this before with disastrous results and have used gallons of Goo Gone and spent days and hours of my life trying to get rid of the glue residue and the thing did it really fast. If you're buying this wheel for it, here's what you should consider, at least a 5 amp drill. My small 1.5 amp 20v battery could barely get this wheel to spin fast enough for it to work as it should. The battery did an excellent job of removing the old dealer sticker that was on the back of the truck, but it barely touched the strip's adhesive residue and also burned the batteries very quickly. To really get the best performance out of this tool, use a cord as it seems to perform better the hotter it gets. It's burned through all the glue, it's pretty much wearing down the wheel except for a small bulge and there are little bits of rubber. everywhere, so wear eye and lung protection unless you like inhaling small rubber particles. I have no complaints about this little tool, even after it was all done there was still some rubber on my wheel so I stripped some really baked epoxy off this truck that was once supposed to have those air vents around the windows and it got it pretty quick survived. Works really well when used correctly. Note that any of these epoxy-based adhesives will leave marks on the paintwork that this bike cannot change. You need to moisten the sand or clay block. But that will at least remove anything that's ON the color, not what's IN the color. NOTE ABOUT THE PICTURES: This wheel did not damage my paintwork. The problem was already with the paint itself as it was very soft and uncured under the strip I removed and immediately lifted and settled onto the primer when I rubbed the area with rubbing alcohol and a paper towel to clean. Every other section I've used this wheel on has been fine so don't worry it won't damage your paintwork.
