Review on πŸ”ͺ GoYonder Super Thin Diamond Saw Blade for Cutting Porcelain Tiles, Granite, Marble and Ceramics - 4.5 Inch by Kazuki Vong

Will not cut Carrara marble cleanly without chipping

This grade and blade was chosen because marble is listed as a compatible cutting stone. After installing it on a new Diamondback wet saw table and checking for squareness and flatness, I attempted to cut my first 10mm thick 12" x 24" marble tile. The blade definitely cut through the marble with no problems. However, the finish was far from ideal, chipping all over the cut. See attached photos of factory edge and raw edge. I tried flipping the tile over for another cut and tried a slower feed rate with equally poor results. You can see where the shavings have formed by the design of the blade which is the trailing edge of the "silver" cutting section as it emerges from the tile under close observation. Knowing this, I tried adjusting the depth of the cut so that the thickness of the tile was just within the "silver" section, again to no avail. So I can either try another MFG blade or keep planning where my cuts are going to be and make sure they land on the walls and out of sight. This was the only way this project could be saved. Shavings are unacceptable for the desired joint width and end result, so perhaps a different and thinner tile is more appropriate? Who knows. I would not recommend this marble tile blade if you want flawless edges.

  • Extra fine porcelain saw blade with free cutting chips suitable for hand held machine
Cons
