These lightbulbs are a mood.Wherever you put them life seems a little sweeter and warmer. I wish they were around when I was a new mom, up at night with a fussy baby, sleep deprived and worried, this warm orange-y pink glow would have soothed some of my anxieties.I was a little worried about these lightbulbs because I am of a generation that remembers burning my fingers trying to change out a lightbulb and packing salt around the elements seems insane, like an instant fire. But these are not the kind of lightbulbs I grew up with.For starters the 'bulb' us plastic.Secondly, the elements have been upgraded, they no longer are hot and dangerous and prone to burning stuff (no more burnt lampshades!).Something you should know is that these kind of bulbs do not work as well in touch lamps. My bedside touch lamp has two levels of light and so with this bulb there is "on" then there is 'flashing dull light" and then off. I don't know why there is now a 'flashing light" level, I am just happy with the sunset pink that turns on when I touch the lamp its just something you should know because I worry that it could be an epilepsy trigger.These bulbs work great in lamps that only have the one level of light.Some other things to know;There is no smell, just in case you were worried that the salts would smell like something, they don't, not even a little bit.The bulbs are lot heavier and if you drop one, I did right after getting it out of the box) they are a bit sturdier than the lightbulbs I remember.The pinkish orange glow is a little less vibrant than the glow from my Salt Lamp, the salt crystals in the bulbs are a pale salmon in color and the large chunk of salt in my Salt Lamp is a good deal darker.
