Review on 🚘 Trunk Lock for Kia Sorento 2016-2019 | Rear Tailgate Lock Latch Liftgate Actuator | Part #81230-C5000 by Kyle Cross

I accidentally bought this car for my wife's 2016 Kia Sorento not knowing it didn't come with a tailgate lift assist. This bar will definitely work, but only as a bar. If you want one with lift assist, the part number is 81230-C5100 and that's about $100 more. Both are easy to install and will work if the trunk latch is faulty. The factory ones seem to fail quite often as I've read a lot of Kia complaints. It also seems that if you're still under warranty (we didn't have any) and you pick up a stink, Kia can replace it for you free of charge. I found this from Kia "Service Action is a silent repair program that runs during the warranty period". So technically they're not being "recalled," but they know it sucks! Super schematic. Of all the DIY repairs I've done, this one involved probably the least amount of swearing and bloody knuckles, so that's a plus. This seller and Amazon were very accommodating and I was easy to work with to return a product and I ordered the product we wanted with the elevator motor part.
