I have always preferred a manual citrus press to an electric one. The reason for this is that electric juicers are never powerful enough to actually get the job done. I prefer to apply some elbow grease as it is faster and more effective. This juicer is pretty neat. Cleaning is quick because you don't have to wash a whole bunch of parts like you do with electrical parts. I don't have space in my kitchen for all sorts of appliances, so this is a good option for me in terms of space as well. The ribs are nice and sharp, so it doesn't take much force, and in a few turns the juice and pulp are fully extracted. As others have said, you can only eat half a grapefruit at a time, but it doesn't matter. I even managed to squeeze a few lemons out of it and that worked too. I love the fact that it's ceramic and I think that's why the burrs are as sharp as any other material, be it metal, glass or plastic, the sharpness has always been lacking. The only issue I have with this item is the price as $31 is way too high for a device like this that isn't even powered.
