Review on Xiaomi Mi Smart Sensor Set by Stanislaw Jastrzebsk ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I was surprised by the quality for the price.

I bought a kit to try "smart home". Out of the box, the use cases are pretty limited: night light, doorbell, simple alarm, motion detection and/or door/window opening notifications. Taking into account the fact that I already had a couple of Yeelight lamps on my hands (by the way, this is another 3/4 of the cost of this kit), in my case this kit immediately allowed me to organize "smart" lighting: for example, turning on the lamp in the kitchen chandelier (trigger - opening the door) and turning it off when there is no activity or when the door is closed. I also note the strangeness of the night light in the hub: when the eyes move, the shades of white break up into colored spots, I will assume that it does not have white LEDs and white is obtained by mixing colors. Accordingly, without wifi lamps (Philips and Aqara zigbee lamps are not supported by this hub), the set is essentially a "probe", the sensors from which can then be integrated into a more advanced system, and the hub itself can be sold or used as a doorbell / night light.

Pros
  • The cheapest kit (took for 2780), which allows you to evaluate the convenience and relevance of the "smart home". By default, complete sensors are tied to the hub, so you can start using it immediately after unpacking.
Cons
  • A very limited number of compatible zigbee devices for the euro version of the hub (only sensors - opening / closing, movement, temperature and leakage). Compared to the Chinese version, the Eurohub lacks a number of features such as Internet radio. The need to purchase at least one wi-fi lamp to organize full-fledged scenarios. Pretty unpleasant female voice acting.
