I had to learn to re-focus my eyes to the blind spot mirror when I used the side mirror, but when I got used to it, I really liked it. Cars today have huge side posts filled with air bags, and my neck is getting reluctant with age to spin around rapidly to check over my shoulder. These mirrors made it so that my wife feels more comfortable too. These mirrors and a pricey after market upgrade,(in-dash GPS unit with Android Auto or Car Play and back up camera) to the panel made my 13 year old Volvo seem as good or better than a new 50K car. I am not impressed by the current lineup.These mirrors work as well or better for me than the flashing electronic blind spot sensors. I have used them now for 2 weeks and am installing them on another car.EDIT 2 mos. later: I have this mirror on both cars now. LOVE them. I had to be careful to place them in a good position on the mirror so that the view was not obstructed by the mirror frame, but they work great, and add greatly to safety. I have learned to trust them.
