I was very upset installing it on a 30 year old toilet. This is a very clean toilet but I didn't realize half the jets were clogged with calcium. When flushing, the water should flow down into the toilet quickly and evenly. 9 out of 20 jets had minimal water flow. With a water-saving flush, the basin was not emptied until the 3rd or 4th flush. When I adjusted it to where it drained, it used about 3/4 of a tank. I was only able to find out after a few hours of research. I then poured hot CLR through the bowl filler neck and attempted to open the jets. Leave on for 5 minutes, use a wire brush to clean the jets to clear the pipes, then flush down the toilet several times. It didn't remove all of the calcium, but it helped the jet flow immediately. Then I adjusted again. The original parts in the toilet were filled in 1 minute 25 seconds. Now it takes 43 seconds to fill the water saver and it takes 1 minute and 30 seconds to flush completely. Our barely-used and like-new-looking basement toilet takes 15 seconds for a water-saving flush and 46 seconds for a full flush. Fill a normal conditioner. I recommend this product, but before you get your hopes up, take a look at the condition of your toilet jets.
