We've ridden these ski racks twice and they work great! After reading all the negative reviews we decided to order anyway. I have no idea what everyone is complaining about. These are your strong standard ski bindings - they do the job perfectly! (1) Holds 3-4 pairs of skis (2) Closes tightly and keeps skis in place (3) Love the red latches for easy ground level control (4) Opens and closes flawlessly in frigid weather. Yes, WD-40 locks first (5) Easily mounts to ski rails, holds luggage rack in place (6) NO whistling wind noise at high speeds (7) Ideal narrower width. NOW what the stand DOES NOT include which I think is a must: 8 hex locknuts for the bottom of each mounting clip (regular non-locking nuts included) / 8 washers for extra support on each clip / 8 rubber caps to secure the ends of the cover screws. Rust? Yes, ALL ski bindings will rust over time. These areas can be coated to protect against rust. RATING PERFORMANCE: 8.5 out of 10 If you're looking for a great value ski rack that gets the job done, this is a winner.
