Review on BISINNA Lightweight 2-Person Camping Tent: Waterproof, Windproof, And Easy To Set Up For Outdoor Adventures by Jeff Islam

Revainrating 3 out of 5

It is a good tent with some modifications

Received and erected tent. I especially like that the tent bag is a little bigger then the original wrapped tent. The directions, attached to the tent bag (smart), only describe directions to putting the tent fly on.If you want to send feedback to the seller. = Go to "Accounts and Lists" top right / Under "Your Account", select "My Orders" / then select the product and "Seller feedback" = to ask a question about the product. The overseas Revain Customer Service has never used the Revain web site and cannot be helpful in this matter. I found it by accident. After I erected the tent I had 4 loops at each side of the tent at the poles and 2 guide ropes and a triangular piece of material with a loop under each vent, AND no instruction about what to do with these. After watching a You tube videos, the 4 loops are used to tie back the doors (look for loop on the underside of the fly) and the 2 guide ropes go into the loop at the triangle piece just below each vent. This guides the top of the fly away from the tent. First, I could not open the tent bag, because the doubled-over sewn edge of the strap did not fit through the plastic hold-down/locking mechanism. I cut off the double-over edge and made a triangle point to the strap. I took a match and VERY CAREFULLY melted the ends of the strap = presto, strap now comes out of the hold-down locking mechanism very easily. Next, after I discovered how to tie back the doors and attach the guide ropes to the triangular piece below each vent, I noticed that, if it rained the water would drip directly on the bottom of the tent on the vent sides of the fly. I made a two (2) 8" loops out of strap material and attached each loop to the BOTTOM edge of the fly BELOW each of the vents. Now the BOTTOM of the fly will be guided out at the doors with the loops on the tent (manufacturer's design) and guided out at the sides with the loops I put onto the bottom of the fly. Should improve both air flow on a still night and direct rain run-off AWAY from the tent sides. I also discovered by watching Youtub, that the fly can be adjusted by pulling on the straps of the fly at the 4 corners of the tent. Very INGENIOUS !. This will also help with air flow and water run-off. The floor: The floor does not look water proof to me. Water-resistant, I could believe. I took a piece of 4 ml thick Polyethylene (can be purchased at Home Depot in the paint section= used as drop cloth) and I cut it a little shorter then the tent = so the rain will not run between the polyethylene and the tent creating a "pool" in the tent. This added protection should stop small stones from puncturing the tent and will DEFINITELY keep the morning dampness away from the tent. I also added another 8 tent stakes to the tent = in case a stake get bent or is left behind. Because the tent bag was purposely made a little bigger, all the extra stuff I am packing (ground cloth and extra stakes) with the tent should fit. An Excellent idea by the manufacturer. I have not used this tent as yet, and expect this tent to meet or exceed my expectation (with the modifications). ALL modifications are simple to do, if you should choose to make them.
