I needed a new filter for my old Craftsman wet/dry vacuum from the 80's. I had a red stripe down the middle. It fit perfectly. Before purchasing, be sure to check the model number of your vacuum cleaner to determine which filter fits. It has to be somewhere in the vacuum. Mine had a detachable fan option and it was there, but I found it in the owner's manual, which surprisingly I still had almost 35 years later. Now this version of the filter is slightly different. My original was open at both ends and you had to screw a round plate into the bottom end. These have a plate built into the filter and give you a small plug that you screw onto the threads of your filter housing. It fits perfectly. I'll keep the old plate and shutter in reserve, but it's even better than the original.
