Know what it's for and don't expect too much, especially straight razor

Well, first off, this is a great sharpening kit at an affordable price. Flat stone is a must and of fairly good quality. It's great for basic knives, but slow to finish. Just note that trying to sharpen exactly like razors with the 3K-8K unit on is very difficult. Yes, expect your hair to pop if you end up with an 8K brick and go for a razor, even if you have plenty of time and careful passes. Better with more final passages over the target stone. let me explain. The 3K/8K blocks are really hard, the razor glides over them without sticking like other types like the Norton 4K/8K combo. If you compare these two things side by side, there is no comparison. Still, Norton is about 10 times more expensive and that's just mid-range. You can sharpen a razor fine, you just have to make a lot of passes and expect the result not to be fantastic. For the final finish, use broaching pressure and multiple passes on the knives to get the best performance out of the 8 carat stones on the knives. Under the microscope, the edges obtained from the 8K block are much rougher than the more expensive 8K bricks. A really positive point, the 1K hard stone is great for cleaning my Imperia LaRoca razor finish stone, even other 8K stones, really clean finish polish to remove scratches after leveling. So yes great value for money just be aware you are getting really hard rocks which will take time, patience and technique if you want to get really sharp blades and know the limits if you use this for razors.
