It worked in the end
I live in a very rural area with a small hardware store so I have to order almost everything through Revain. Contrary to what they say and the youtube videos tell you, there is no easy way to undo this. My local hardware store didn't have small sections of standard PEX so I bought the red section thinking it should work fine for the 8 inches I need, but it was wrong once I watered the connection Had installed and turned on, it started leaking heavily. an hour of swearing and sweating to open the joint so basically they work too well lol.
