Review on Brother P-touch PT-90: Your Personal Labeler for Organized Efficiency by Russ Charmin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Affordable and simple label printer

It's hard to find a more powerful label printer than the Brother P-touch PT-90. It only prints on two label sizes and only on standard non-laminated label stock, but is suitable for a wide range of labeling applications. Only one font is provided, but there is a good selection of fonts, including vertical fonts. You can also add text frames and icons or use one of the eight pre-made "deco mode" label styles to add some flair. With three interchangeable bezels, you can customize the look of your label maker to suit your mood or personal style. For most, this seems easy. Not everyone agrees, but most users say that the Brother P-touch PT-90 is simple and easy to use. Font choices are limited to one - Helsinki - but you can use a variety of fonts to spice things up. For even more fancy labels, you can add special characters or text frames, or use the pre-designed "Deco” label layout. Battery life is an issue, and according to user reports, this is compounded by a low-battery warning that flashes even when the battery is still good. The PT-90 has a label remover, but most say it doesn't work very well. There's no memory, so you can't save labels for reuse later, but you can print up to nine copies of a label at a time. Just the basics. Despite some decorative effects, this is a simple labeler in every way. It only prints on non-laminated label stock and is only available in two widths: 9mm and 12mm. However, if you just need a label printer for casual home use, the PT-90 can meet all your needs.
