I almost returned this monitor as the image quality in games was abysmal, with significant blurring and color smearing with every movement. It took me a while to realize that this monitor's response time just isn't great and it doesn't work well with freesync. So I enabled MPRT for Response Time, which automatically disabled Freesync (as it should) and all the above issues were gone. With my current GPU, I get 85-100 fps with a 144Hz refresh rate and experience no screen tearing at all, and it's very smooth with MPRT enabled. I'm expecting to get around 144 fps with my upgraded GPU (on order) to match the refresh rate and that will improve things a lot more. I don't know if this experience was specific to me and my build, but I'm just sharing my experience with anyone who struggles with the advertised quality of this monitor.
