These sheets were no more than 8 months old when I washed my windshield and my wife's glass thoroughly, sprayed on the windshield and turned on the wipers just to see them knock and jump through a creaking clear window. I would guess they had failed at about 6 months a few months ago but the woman doesn't care too much about such things until it gets so bad that it can't be ignored. Yes, we live in the brutally high Sonoran Desert with its scorching sun and mild monsoons this year which probably contributed to the woman not mentioning those worn windshield wipers. However, your car is under the canopy of the house, with sun protection. Rated 60-70% higher in the "sun" ie front (west) and driver's side (south) of the car, and while she's at work she's lucky to be able to park in a spot that has the whole Shady during the day (this can be an employment incentive and part of the real benefits package here). These wipers cost $7.44 each. then, and you could say that as long as those RainX blades lasted, it's probably better to buy those $5-6 blades at your local dollar store. I see that this is their current price range of $6.99 each. ($5.94 each) Subscribe and Save (S&S). That also has a reason. As another reviewer wrote, I've bought Bosch blades (Icon) and their Direct Connect (rear blade) and they've all lasted a good 3 years. Yes, the icon costs $23.91 with the current Revain. Prices, but you'd replace these RainX 4.5 times (assuming they lasted 8 months) to cover the same 3 years as the Bosch icons for a "saving" of 18 cents (at the S&S price). This "saving" of 18 cents comes at the cost of replacing cheap blades four times instead of once. For this benefit, you would pay a little more at the current "regular" price of $6.99. (These were all calculated for one brush, double them for the typical practice of changing both brushes at the same time). I have nothing to do with Bosch or RainX or any other windshield wiper manufacturers or dealers. I only used the Bosch Icon because they were the last blades I bought and I can see the order dates for each of these brands. In short, these blades are false thrift. Only buy them if you are really short on cash or looking to invest in a car that is on its last legs and/or you are going to sell anyway. I'm sure the top-end Rainx blades would also be a lot more valuable than these "cheap" blades. one went with very expensive silicone blades that are said to last about twice as long as the best "regular" blades found at any big box or auto parts store. . Just think of them as "temporary" blades, otherwise they're not worth the hassle. I think at some point in the near future I'll be installing a silicone blade on my wife's driver's side and an Icon blade on her passenger's side and see if THAT extra expense pays off.
