I recently bought an HP Color LaserJet Pro M479fdw MFP for my home office having decades of great experience with HP laser printers at work. Of course, I also had to buy a 550-sheet feeder. I was very surprised that while the feed can be adjusted for legal sized paper, it sticks out a couple of inches when the tray is reinserted! Aside from the ugly aesthetic, it catches your clothes and is a dust magnet. Older models had a plastic flap on the back that lifted up, allowing the shell to close completely and protect the contents from dust. Even the small Tray 2 on the printer itself has this problem! Combine this design flaw with the outrageous price of their toner cartridges and I'm starting to feel like I made a huge mistake investing in HP's new laser printer technology.
