While I find some qualities positive about this Elechomes air purifier, some of the components are less than desirable. I'll start with the positive things. First, it's an attractive unit with a small footprint. Its body is made entirely of plastic, so it is lightweight and easy to move from room to room if necessary. The central touch control panel is easy to operate by simply pressing the touch icons. (PLEASE NOTE: operation video with sound recording) This air purifier can be set to automatic mode where it will turn on and off for you and adjust the fan speed according to the air quality in your room. You can also select the fan speed manually, set the work timer function, and also protect with a child lock. A button to reset the filter will also appear. It's quiet at low speeds and very noisy at high speeds. I must now, in good conscience, point out what I consider to be relevant. The plastic case, especially the back panel, is made of very thin plastic. Care must be taken when removing this plate and the thin plastic base. I'm concerned about the durability of the flimsy plastic tabs that hold the panel in place. Now let's move on to the most important element of any air purifier - the filter itself. The mesh lining is something that you need to constantly inspect and clean. Some may find it desirable to be able to vacuum this filter, but I prefer to install the filter and wait for the check engine light to tell me to replace it. Keeping an eye on this extra maintenance step and checking the removable screen frequently while the handheld vacuum is being pulled out to keep that vacuum working at peak performance is just an issue for me and something to keep in mind. If you're a "set and forget" type like me, you might want to consider another purifier. Last but not least, this filter has a built-in carbon bed. It's inferior to say the least, in fact I don't know why they even bother as it's low carbon. I've posted a direct comparison between another brand's Purifer charcoal filters and Elechomes charcoal filters so you can see the difference for yourself. I'm clearly disappointed with the overall quality at this price point; I expected better. An air purifier is only as good as the filter that cleans the air in it. I have posted videos and photos and I hope that together with my experience they will help you make the best choice for your home. Many Thanks.
