Worth a try if the price is right.
Helps a little with a big step down and feels solid, but we still weigh less than 200 pounds. The dog is afraid of it and jumps over it, making the steps even more dangerous for the dog. I thought about painting the chrome flat as visually it's a bit noticeable but easier to find and progress at night. Worth a try if the price is right - thought I'd just give it away if it didn't work and buy a more expensive foldable version to replace what we have, but an inexpensive way to try the extra step first .
