I wanted these trees to have an outlet because battery-powered trees are a nuisance, especially when the trees are in an awkward location. In addition, battery-powered LED elements with a remote control last even less, since the devices have to maintain a small constant voltage so that the remote control can turn them on when needed. By default they are in mode #1 when my timer turns them back on and as mentioned they are in an awkward position to climb a ladder to physically switch them between modes until 'permanent' ", where the 8th mode takes place! Unfortunately I was going to return them because if so, but I have many other LED items that use a remote control and I have fortunately found one that works with these lighted trees. They still turn on in sequential mode but now I can point the remote at them, press #8 on the remote and they stay on (not blinking) until my timer turns them off at the set time. I'm grateful to have found a working remote control as most of these LED trees sold at Revain are battery powered only and not plugged into an outlet or like these trees plugged into a powered USB socket!
