Lots and lots of flushes and still black drain. Dust leaves noticeable stains on my rocks and plants in my tank. However, it seems to keep the tea clay off my driftwood (the reason I bought it). Also my fridge smelled better which is a plus. However, I probably won't buy them again as the grains are much smaller than I expected. You need a bag made of ultra-fine mesh. After finishing this box and the tannins coloring my water too much again I might try Purigen or maybe the larger charcoal although this product is much more readily available. The dust covering all my decor and plants is not worth it.
