Review on Acer CB272 Bmiprx FreeSync Technology 75Hz Monitor with Built-In Speakers by Steven Deiter

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfect for my needs

I bought two of these monitors to replace my old 27" 60Hz BenQ panels that I've had for years because they didn't work well with my new LG 34UM69G-B Ultrawide. I play on these monitors and needed something that met the same specs: IPS, 1ms response time, FreeSync, Displayport, 75Hz Watching video on one monitor while gaming on another, this can cause the game to stutter regularly and FPS loses) like mine extra wide. The price is also a big plus. The exchange solved my problems. Games on ultrawide no longer stutter or drop FPS when watching a stream or YT video on a different monitor, and the games I use on all monitors now run smoothly on all monitors with no weird snags Stand was also a must. Mine the Rig is designed for multiple purposes, casual gaming and sim racing. I needed to be able to lower and raise all of my monitors depending on what I was doing. I used to use the tr VESA monitor stand which holds all my monitors but it was bolted in height and to change it I had to take the monitors off, unscrew, adjust, reassemble, put the monitors back on. It was too much work so to keep things simple I decided to put each monitor on a separate stand so they could be moved around easily. They raise and lower very easily and hold their height with ease. I read many reviews complaining about the mesh door effect. That's what you get with this resolution and this size. Individual pixels are larger than on a 1440p or 4k panel. So if you look closely you can see these individual pixels. Personally I don't have a problem with this, of course I can see it if I get close enough to the monitor, but from a foot or more away it disappears. If you use your monitor this close, you might want to change how you do it. Calibrating the monitors for my ultra wide screen took some work, the factory settings were pretty bad. I used a combination that was as close as possible to the monitor settings and then fine-tuned it in the Nvidia control panel. This would be easier with the screen calibration tool, but I was able to fairly accurately match them all just by looking at them. Both monitors match the same settings, so it was nice to be able to tweak one and just copy the settings to the other. You don't have to try to set them up individually. The settings I've settled on are: Brightness - 100 Contrast - 50 Black Gain - 0 Blue Light - Off. ACM - Off Super Sharp - Off I prefer a colder, whiter image) All Bias - 50 I have FreeSync enabled on all monitors and it works well with the 2070 Super. I also use DisplayPort on all monitors. Nvidia Color Settings: Use Nvidia Settings - Enabled The settings were made under All Channels, I didn't have to adjust individual channels. Brightness - 62% Contrast - 0% Gamma - 0.80 Digital Vibration - 75%. Verdict: These monitors are the best deal for the price. It has great specs and once adjusted you get a pretty good picture (can't speak for professional work but if that's your goal then you're probably looking for something better than this with better color accuracy). Add to that you get a nice height-adjustable portrait stand, and this is a real winner. For gaming monitors/general use/media consumption you can't go wrong with this device.
