I purchased this product as a rackmount monitor for a WD media player with a keyboard in a rack. I am using an HDMI to DVI adapter. Although this is the only way out of the player, it works fine. However, when I put my other foot on the signal splitter to run to my receiver to play what's coming from the WD player, it sucks. I've tried all combinations of splitters and cables with no success. The TV works fine with the other leg of the splitter. Just like my Pioneer receiver. This HP monitor is so finicky about the DVI input that it just can't handle anything but perfect. This is a mid-range budget product at a fairly high price for what it is. Engineers shouldn't have expected or needed better signal quality.
