I want my K&N air filter serviced every 20,000 to 30,000 miles and that's exactly what I need. The cleaner removes old oil and any contaminants that have built up in the filter after a short soak and thorough rinsing with water. Be sure to wear gloves when using the cleaner as skin contact is not very comfortable. Once the filter is dry, the oil spray bottle makes it easier to re-lubricate the filter. You'll get less oil with a spray bottle than the spray bottle offered by K&N, but it's MUCH easier to apply evenly with a spray bottle, and you probably won't miss the extra few ounces that the dispenser bottle holds. I have little doubt that my K&N air filter will last the life of my car with this kit.
