Received my smsl is-8 today. The packaging was perfect and the device felt as solid as a cinder block. My setup uses a Vizio Crave Pro as my main speaker (trust me, it's loud enough to bother the neighbors next door). But my most exciting recent purchases have been Hifiman he400i planar magnetic headphones, then my Loxjie P20 tube amp, and then SMS came just today. The sound and options offered by this DAC are simply overwhelming. I'm amazed at what really great sound can be. Everything is fully balanced via XLR cables connecting P20 and SU8. And I also have dual 2.5mm connectors with a 4 pin XLR connector to connect to my P20. The volume is more than any man can need. But the real brilliance of this setup is loyalty. Su8 offers so many different options to change the timbre as well as many filters. I've found the most perfect setup I've ever had in my 30+ year love of music. I have a paid Deezer and Tidal subscription. I have Lightning to USB 2.0 to connect my iphone to su8 dac as music source. All in all, headphones, amp, fiio q1 mark2, cables and DAC cost me around $900. And I could get the Vizio for a paltry $90 when it was selling for over $300 a few years ago. I once had a complete component system that cost me 5x what I put in and I can tell you with 100% confidence that this current setup is vastly superior to my previous one. If you are on a budget and really like very high quality audio reproduction then play mine and I assure you you will not be disappointed.
