Review on ๐Ÿ”ฆ Koauto - Set of 2 Dome Lamp Switches for Crosstour, Accord, CR-V, Element, Odyssey, and Pilot - New by Josh Sheehan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

These switches fit neatly into the interior light on my 2005 Honda Pilot EXL.

Brief overview. It took about 15 minutes to pull out the old switches and replace them with new ones. Long story. Initial problem: Neither of the card's two dome lights came on when the door was opened, but they did when the plastic lens was lifted. I've spent many hours investigating the problem. YouTube was particularly helpful in diagnosing the problem and demonstrating the process of replacing the faulty part, the tie switches. I thought the local Honda dealer would supply the switches. nope He said I would have to buy the entire plastic base, Honda part number 34404-SDA-A21 for about $110. And the only electronic parts on it are 2 switches. So I turned to Revain, where I found at least a dozen websites that had switches that looked like the old ones. But my 2005 Pilot wasn't on the list of cars that would match the switches, at least according to any of these sites. Disappointment. I looked at my bad switches and found some writing on the (black) bottom of the switch. It said "ALPS" at the top, "2 C 1" at the bottom, and "421C" in the middle. It looks like ALPS Alpine is the manufacturer of the derailleur and "2 C 1" is a part number of sorts. The picture of the switches I bought from Revain shows the exact same inscriptions: ALPS and "2 C 1". The number in the middle I think is the date code or the start code, so they are different. Since the pictures on the Revain looked exactly like my faulty switches, I snapped a photo even though they shouldn't match the 2005 pilot. . But they fit perfectly and work perfectly. My guess is that older cars are simply excluded from the list of cars that match some of the available parts.

Pros

Cons
