Great function and look but leaks need improvement

I love the look and operation of the drain but the installation was a little nerve racking. There are no instructions with it, I installed and removed it several times and several different ways before I had no leaks. I put plumbers putty between each valve and seal and Teflon tape on bottom pipe and tightened it way more than I thought was necessary and finally no leaks. Just a diagram direction sheet would be most helpful but I guess they assume the buyers have more plumbing knowledge than I do.
