Works well with cold water. Great for draining my hot tub when the water is chilled first. For some reason, when pumping warm water, the flow rate was greatly reduced. I suppose hot water would be even worse. I tried using this to circulate water through a tankless water heater to flush the water heater. This worked well at first, but after about 30 minutes, as the water warmed up from the heat of the pump motor, the flow quickly dropped. It worked normally again once I let the water cool down. I understand dishwashing water heaters are not on the uses list for this pump, just wanted to let others know if they think it could have multiple uses.
