Overall I'm very happy with this lamp, especially considering the low price. When ordering I was concerned that the lamp would not be attached to my table to stand stably. This concern was due to the design of my desk, not the design of the lamp. My desk is a very simple design with an approximately 1.5 inch "top" attached to a metal frame. The clip does not open wide enough to accommodate the thickness of the countertop and metal frame. There is a protrusion of about 0.5 inch behind the metal frame. I wasn't able to get the whole clip onto my lip, but it attached 0.5 inches securely enough to be stable. The lamp puts out enough light, it has multiple brightness/heat settings which is good, but I doubt I would use anything other than the highest setting as the purpose of buying this lamp was to illuminate the work area, huh is not good . lighted place in my house. Adjusting the position is easy, and the dials used to hold the selection in place work well. The only recommendation I would give is to make the middle hinge so that it can move left/right, not just up/down (see second picture). This wouldn't be necessary if the front of my desk wasn't directly against the wall, so I don't think this is a real design flaw. I should have done more research before purchasing and considered the functionality of the design in relation to my particular setup. The light still offers enough brightness for me to see what I'm doing and read documents without being able to turn the knob so the lamp is directly above the keyboard.
