Good, but not perfect

NOISE: My old ones make a TERRIBLE moaning/whining noise throughout the house when the water pressure changes or runs "partially open". The Tree Root Sprinkler/Feeder makes a CONSTANT noise the whole time while the water is flowing and using the trigger will result in all sorts of weird noises echoing around the house. I bought these new ones to fix it. This MAINLY fixed it. These are loud. but it is about 10% by volume. Let's deal with that first. LEAK: They don't "lick" at all. They relieve as intended and relieve excess pressure (water). Alt"floss". They have to come out of the smaller holes because it's a SPRAY. They also appear to have lower pressure resistance as they take longer to clear the water than older ones as the inflated tube contracts to a relaxed state. Mine is over the grass so I don't mind. When you are near windows, furniture, on the patio. You can find those that can withstand higher pressure before blowing. or clear straight down instead of everywhere. INSTALL: Many codes require them to be "permanent". So the set screw is designed to break off. This means they may need to be cut or reamed. In addition, they are simply screwed on like a hose. The video shows them being blown in normal use. I can try a pressure regulator ($7-$15) to see if it completely eliminates the noise. I'll leave it at that for now.
