I've used over a dozen check valves and these are the only ones that spray to relieve pressure. Not just the short tug that others do, but every time the hose is disconnected. Unfortunately I discovered this after closing the returns window.

I do not know which engineering university gave the designer higher education, but they must be excluded from accreditation. Buy them to mix hot and cold water with the device. Every time the device stops calling for water, the natural back pressure in the hoses is expelled through the perimeter drilled holes. This sprays on faces, control panels, and anything nearby. In short, it's a check valve. But it's designed to leak.

This is a set of two vacuum interrupters or check valves. it is save. My last one lasted over 20 years and this one looks pretty well built. I replaced mine because she was making a horrible moan. This fixed that problem. The water flow rate remained the same. I would like at least basic user training instructions to be included.

It works, with a little squirt of spray at the end when the pressure is off Given that many use this to treat a water contamination through RV backwash hoses and other dirty sources the manufacturer should provide really high quality instructions and maybe even link to how-to videos on how to install this properly and how to test it to make sure it works, and how to tell that it does not working. The replaced backflow preventers made head gap noise and leaked badly. Not this one. Easy Installation - Just make sure the fragile screw is loose enough not to touch the threads of whatever you're installing it on. The backflow works accurately, and when the water is turned off, the water is ejected 360 degrees. In addition to the preventers themselves (which include a gasket), two additional gaskets (for the end of the hose if needed) and teflon tape were provided. . Very nice touch.

Works well and looks good. It spits out some water when the sprinkler valve closes, but I think that means it's working properly. Didn't hear the noise that others complained about. Note that this restricts the water flow somewhat. My sprinkler valve measures gallons per minute and after installation it reads almost 1 gallon per minute down. It's probably not a big deal if you have good numbers to start with, but in my case I'm having trouble getting enough water into the system to start with…

NOISE: My old ones make a TERRIBLE moaning/whining noise throughout the house when the water pressure changes or runs "partially open".
