I just recently discovered this item and I'm glad I did. I bought a water filter to remove the bad taste in my water that I've been struggling with for a while. Turns out that bad taste was caused by backflow from the outside pipes, our 100ft water hose up front and 50ft. The foot hose at the back held back the standing water that ran back into the kitchen when we turned on the faucet, mixing with the fresh water and fouling it. Luckily, I noticed a change in taste that prompted me to investigate. The thought "what if I hadn't found this item" makes me appreciate the fact that I did. I can only imagine the health issues I would have faced if I hadn't found this. Folks, if you have sprinkler systems or water hoses that keep you "loaded," make sure you have some form of backflow protection. You don't want to drink fertilizers, chemical pollutants, or bacteria laden with stagnant water. On the positive side, this device stays on even with a hard shutdown, e.g. B. by a washing machine or a spray hose, relieves the pressure on lines. It slows the venting and depressurization of the system without causing pipe bangs. This can prevent premature failures caused by overloading the water pipe connections in your home.
