This remote works with my 1995 Craftsman (Security+) with a RED learning button although instructions are provided for the Liftmaster 971LM remote are provided ORANGE learning button and do not point to the red learning button. I can confirm this definitely works with red or orange study buttons. Bought to use as a second remote with the original Craftsman remote. Unfortunately, the original didn't work as expected. You CANNOT use this with the original to add a second remote control. EITHER the Elevator Master OR the Master (manufacturer's original console) will be programmed, but not both at the same time. :( 2 remotes (Liftmaster and OE remote) cannot be used together. You must purchase an optional second Liftmaster 971LM if you need 2 remotes. The FCC ID for the lift is not the same as your original FCC ID, which is In my case I'm a handyman so you absolutely need to get 2 liftmaster remotes I didn't know this so I came back and pre ordered a 2 and both new remotes programmed in seconds I now have 2 working remotes for my garage door opener, yes! I think I can add up to 3 on my particular opener, but the maximum may vary depending on the capabilities of your model. Check the original manufacturer's instructions to see the maximum number of remotes supported.
