Review on πŸ’¦ VIP50 Wayne Thermoplastic Portable Electric Water Removal Pump for Efficient Water Extraction by Tyrell Christmas

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Copes with its task, does not clog, does not fail.

I bought this pump because I had a chronic problem with standing water in my driveway with a rain drain/overflow. When it rained heavily, the plains were flooded with water. So I decided to hook up a 50 foot garden hose to this pump and get the water off my property. Considering I rented a bigger pump and a $70 2-inch fire hose for the day from Home Depot, this little guy has made my life better. multiple refunds. I've used it for pumping over 20 times this season, the blades clog the hole at the bottom where the impeller is, but I've NEVER had a failure. The water ran off well on the sides and any residue could easily be removed by hand. Only once did I find that the pump had stopped. I left it on all night but the sewers dried up before they reached it. I suspect the pump is overheating. But this is a sealed system and after the device was allowed to cool down it started working again. My only issue was that the 5/8" garden hose has a narrow bore and the flow rate wasn't ideal for me. But that is solely due to the hole, not the device. I assume using a 3/4" fitting (not a 5-8 adapter) will result in a better flow rate and if I could get a pump with a 2" fitting I would laugh. I chose this because I didn't want to buy a separate fire hose just to connect the pump. Lightweight, easy to care for, hasn't let me down all season.
