My daughter got it for her birthday. It took me a while to set it up (I know mom is wrong right?) but when we got the chance I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it would be a difficult test, but it was really easy. I've owned and at least helped set up several aquariums over the years and I can honestly say this was the easiest of them all. Usually the biggest challenge is getting the pump/filter system to work properly, but even that was an oversimplification. Seriously, I think I could probably let my kids build it on their own, and only between the ages of 2 and 8. Delete it. it would have taken a lot longer because they would have been arguing about who should do which part and who was right etc. etc. Haha. So I would suggest sticking with the adult build for that reason alone. The longest part of the process was moving the furniture around so the dresser was close enough to the outlet. With its glowing LED effects, it not only looks absolutely beautiful, but also acts as the perfect night light. The soft blue light is bright enough to see furniture and doors, but not so bright as to disturb sleep. So, to sum up my babble. This is a great little aquarium that people of all ages will love and you will definitely need to scroll to add it to your cart. It's definitely worth it!
