JUST TO SAY IT WILL NOT FIT "...WILL FIT ANY TYPE OR SIZE OF PRODUCT... " AS SPECIFIED!

Should have listened to previous reviewers who didn't like this panini press but unfortunately didn't! Simply put, it is NOT "...SUITABLE FOR EVERY TYPE AND SIZE OF FOOD...". as noted! I was attempting to make a ham and cheese panini sandwich and convinced myself of the many shortcomings of this Chefman Panini Press Grill. First, the extremely short cord limited its use in our office. Even though the sandwich is on a small grid, when you try to push it down the lid doesn't apply even pressure (because it doesn't float), so the sandwich tries to push the contents out towards the front of the sandwich. Also, the lid isn't fixed, so you have to hold it to "squeeze" the sandwich. Eventually, it will be heated unevenly, so part of the bread will be toasted well and another part will not be toasted at all. Since I kept it in the press to roast the unroasted part, I burned the part that roasted first. I am returning the Chefman Panini Press Grill and will be looking for another Panini Press that is larger and has a floating and locking lid; I'll also look for one with an ON/OFF power switch and maybe temperature control.
