It didn't work on my 2001 Suburban at first. 2 cables had to be laid. It is very easy to make and requires no soldering. Starting at the end with a blue fixative. 1st row. Left white wire, right red wire. Middle row, nothing left, black wire on the right. Bottom row, nothing left, blue wire on the right. After I routed those cables, everything worked beautifully. The trailer had instructions with pictures. Just pull out the blue retaining clip, use a small screwdriver to remove the wires to be moved (only two, red and white I think). Then push back the blue locking tab.
