I bought this for a small sauce pot and while it's great for cooking veggies, it's NOT for steaming rice. Every time I try to cook white rice according to package directions, too much liquid either spills out through the sides or a hole in the top and my rice is undercooked. I always thought it was my imagination (or the cook's mistake) until I realized it only happens with this pot and lid combo. Although this is dishwasher safe, there are a lot of water stains (I have very soft water) on the black part of the lid. Of course, this does not affect the performance, but it makes it visually less attractive. I couldn't rub them off with my hand either, and why bother when put it back in D/W and the stains will just come back.
