Review on πŸš— Dorman Fuel Level Sensor 911-048 for Hyundai: Enhanced SEO-specific Model Selection by Russell Wong

They were a failure for me but a hit for others.

Bought a 2008 Santa Fe with 98,000 miles and found that the fuel gauges needed replacing as a full tank only registered as 1/2 full. I was hoping they would work for the price. Installed both and showed a completely blank / 0 rangefinder. Pull the thread back, making sure nothing confuses the swimmers. Again no display on the meter. Filled the tank up to 16 gallons and still empty/0. Decided to order stock sensors. The OEM sensors worked great. When I checked the ones that were originally replaced, I noticed that they were also Dorman sensors. So the bottom line is this car went through a set of Hyundai cars, a set of Dorman cars, and then got DOA on another set of Dorman cars. To be fair to other reviews I think the reality will be random (which is why I'm giving them 2 stars). So if you're willing to risk them for the price I'd say at least some OEM's if they don't work. It's kind of a chore removing the seats, breaking the snap rings and separating everything. They would rather try to do it all in one day and then wait a few days for a new set of sensors to arrive, or just bite the bullet and go OEM from the start.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of fashion
