Review on 📀 Enhanced Philips DVP5992 DVD Player: Full HD 1080p HDMI Upscaling, USB 2.0, and DivX Ultra Capabilities by John Clark

First, Revain & VNCDirect: another product that arrived earlier than expected. Great service, Philips, what can I say? It plays VCD, KvCD, Divx, etc. (For those who don't know, you can take an .avi file, burn it as data and have a look here. I don't know if it works for other types of media files. Recording data is very fast.) I live with Philips because I'm one of the few DVD players that can handle any type of disc thrown at it. I have a DVD movie I brought and after a few months it stuttered on my Go video and then blocked. Philips handled it like a dream. Even if it was scratched or the Go video needed cleaning, I didn't have to find out with Philips. I just figured out part of my answer: I just put in a scratched CD and it doesn't stutter. There is an eject button on the remote that also closes the disc tray. (yes, I'm lazy sometimes) It has a volume control. I don't know what it's for yet, but it's there. When connecting via HDMI and/or to an HDTV, make sure you go to the DVD player's picture settings page and your TV's screen size settings and do a few experiments to get the best picture. Simply selecting 720p, 1080i/p in DVD settings does not necessarily mean you will get the best picture. You can create .mp3 from CDs. You can set the bitrate (the default should be 192 kbps, not 128 kbps) and some other things I thought I could only do on my PC. Added Nice.One feature that will be a plus for some of you on the web: it has a lip sync feature. What it does: You can adjust the audio speed of movies and videos that are out of sync. For movies where the audio doesn't match the video, you can fix the problem. Something else I thought I could only do on my computer. Well!
