Review on ๐Ÿ’จ Mishimoto MMRAD-XJ-89 Performance Aluminum Radiator for Jeep Grand Cherokee XJ 1989-2001: Efficient Cooling Solution by Joshua Beaule

Nice block and well designed but some quality control improvements need to be done to 100%.

mine is fine and working. The radiator looks solid, the welds are good. I had an installation scheduled for Saturday morning so I packed all my parts but stopped when I discovered the overflow pipe was missing from the box. Your support gave me one over the next week, but it set me back on my project. The overflow pipe didn't seem to be well threaded and knowing it was aluminum I was very careful screwing it in. But it still broke so I would say the quality control of this part is poor. I soldered the overflow pipe to the neck and everything is fine, but either way it's a little disappointing. Other Items - I'm fine with the middle latch. My upper radiator hose fogged up like an old friend during a test ride because I couldn't get the stock hose clamp any closer to the radiator. So I used my cutting disk on the radiator mount to give me more room to move the clamp straight to the radiator reservoir. I don't notice any temperature drop so I'm still at 210 but this cooler is much nicer and has more coolant capacity than the stock plastic tank type. I hope it will hold up, but since it's aluminum I can fix it myself if I run into any problems. I would still buy it again given the current market situation.
