Review on πŸ”§ Enhanced Performance Parts & Accessories: Premium Oil Filter Compatible Description by Shawn Jimenez

It's not the same as before

I saw them for sale at Revain for a decent sum and thought I hit the ground clearance, the mother load. I also thought it was pretty lucky as I just bought a 2003 Honda Element with quite a bit of sludge in the engine and cleaned it carefully with very frequent oil changes to solve the problem. I also have a 2006 Acura TSX that has always had regular and frequent oil changes, about 270k on the clock and never had a problem. I usually use Wal-Mart Super Tech 10 or 20,000 mile synthetic motor oil made at Champion Laboratories, the same company as Wix. Over the years we have had great luck with this oil. The cheapest filter at Wal-Mart that fits both of the above vehicles is the Super-Tech MP7317. This is a good but not very high quality filter made in the USA. This K&N "Performance Series" is basically the same filter as the one made in the same factory, but with perhaps slightly worse quality control. I bought 5 of these for a total of 15.97 including taxes. These filters are stamped Y1, Y2 or Y3 on the bottom just like the Super Tech blocks. My filters arrived in a hastily stuffed bag and were very dusty, like they had been sitting on a shelf in a dusty room for months. Qualitatively, they look very similar, but the Super Tech I'm sitting at home doesn't have much dust. Look at the pictures, they are identical and the Super Tech is $3.50 at Wally World. So if they're significantly cheaper, it's a pretty good price, but definitely not a premium filter. You definitely don't get anything for free here. Since I mostly use mine to change the oil once or twice a week, they'll probably do the trick.
