Review on Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM FLD Lens: Large Aperture Standard Zoom for Canon DSLR - International Version (No Warranty) by Hideo Ebara ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The product is average, Im not sure its worth the money.

I read the comments and I don’t understand, maybe I have such a copy? Clear focus only works when the light is perfect. In twilight constantly "prowls". Often misses. in 2 out of 10 photos. The picture quality is not impressive. The white balance is often inaccurate. Detail fit is poor. Dust gets inside. I didn't think that the protrusion of the trunk was a problem. Now I know it. I read a lot about this lens before buying. According to tests and reviews, it is not much inferior to its Canon counterpart. In some ways, it even excels. But I bought it when changing the Sony system to Canon. Used Sonina SAL1650 2.8. Lenses do not even compare (the price of Sony 1650 is about the same as Canon 1650). My opinion: the lens is mediocre. The picture is average, the assembly is weak, the price is pleasant.

Pros
  • Price, sharpness at 2.8.
Cons
  • The quality of the materials used. Assembly. Chromatitis.
