I haven't bought a new camera in years so I did a lot of research before buying this one. Actually, I did too much research and got confused. In the end I just broke down and ordered this one because it looked like a good deal. I am very happy that I bought it. It takes great pictures and is easy to use. I don't like spending a lot of time learning about technology and this camera's menus make it very easy to understand everything. I haven't even looked at the manual since I got the camera. The panorama function is great: simply set to panorama, keep the button pressed and scan the scene from left to right. The only thing I would have wished for this camera would be a lower MP setting. It takes pictures with four settings: VGA, 5MP, 10MP and 14MP. 10 and 14 are very detailed and perfect for large prints. Even 5 megapixels look good in the large format. The VGA setup is of fairly low quality, not even worth viewing on your computer or emailing to anyone. The solution to this problem is the 5MP setting, which offers great image quality but is a very large file size, so you can't send many photos at once. It would be great if this camera had a 2 or 3 MP setup. However, it's okay. UPDATE 3/31/13: This camera is still working great. The battery still holds a charge quite well (knock on wood). I do not regret this purchase.
