Review on MICHELIN Energy XM2+ 185/65 R15 88H summer by Adam Trela ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The perfect purchase for me, exactly what I was looking for!

Dimension 185/65 r15, date 02/2022, put on Hyundai Solaris. Before that, I had already rolled oak Hankook k415, in winter on Nordman 4. I have been staring at Primacy 4 for a long time, but the high price and soft sidewall made me reconsider my choice. Energy saver dismissed, as the experience of a friend said that the rubber is very rolling and constantly catches punctures, which did not suit me. After two weeks of exhausting market research and reviews, I settled on Energy XM2 + and I don’t regret anything) When I just changed my shoes, I was shocked - the wheels up to a speed of 50 km / h are not audible at all, despite the fact that Solaris has no sound insulation at all (on the last rubber, the noise blocked all the surrounding sounds). Now I have traveled ~500 km in a week. - although the comparison is not entirely correct, but compared to winter tires, the braking distance felt to be halved, confidence in braking was added, now I'm worried that they won't "catch up" behind) - rubber is very quiet compared to the past, but after 50 km / h it starts to howl and the sound grows up to about 70 km / h. If you have a car of a higher class and there is a noise, most likely the noise will not bother you at all. - before the car after 130 km / h was not stable in a straight line, I had to hold the steering wheel tightly and adjust the trajectory, I sinned all the time on the suspension. I was very surprised when, at a speed of 140 km / h, it felt like you could let go of the steering wheel) - where the turns were at 60 km / h, now I pass at 80 km / h and it seems this is not the limit. Despite the fact that it feels like the car is about to be blown out when cornering, you bring the steering wheel in the direction of the turn and the car continues to turn. - it is much more comfortable to go through joints and unevenness, it became easier to get out of the rut - The car coasts nicely, does not lose much in speed. In conclusion - after I changed my shoes, I got the impression that I changed the car to a higher class. I never thought that so much depends on tires. All the time I want to step on the gas in a turn and test what else the wheels are capable of. I'm delighted, now forever with Michelin)

Pros
  • I would recommend this model to my friends. - medium price segment and amazing quality and features, price / quality ratio at its best - 5 year warranty against manufacturing defects and 1 year extended warranty against damage - an authorized dealer did a free tire fitting on the day of purchase and accepted winter tires for storage - very comfortable tires, low noise level and excellent handling of bumps - at the same time, the strength of the tire promises to be at a decent level (reinforced Ironflex sidewall), it has already rubbed against the curbs twice, the rubber creaked but did not receive any damage - control and braking at height
Cons
  • There are no complaints about the tires, there are only nit-picking. - when driving around the city and around the yards (not on the dirt road), pebbles get stuck in the tread and hit the arches at speed, I can’t call this a big drawback, but I encountered this for the first time - after 50 km/h they begin to howl on "not smooth" pavement
