Review on Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM lens, black by Adam Fido ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I recommend to buy, the product is of high quality.

I chose between Canon 50 / 1.4 and Canon 85 / 1.8. I chose fifty kopecks, since the angle is wider, and you can shoot not only portraits, which helps a lot indoors when you can’t move away from the object. Good lens for portraiture. Likes fast shutter speeds (min. 1/80 sec. ). Be sure to buy a hood for it: the glass will be protected not only from glare, but also from scratches, bumps, dust, water splashes, etc. One of Canon's most popular mid-range lenses: not bad, and far from ideal. Test photos:

Pros
  • - aperture 1.4; - fast USM autofocus, even in low light; - easy; - adequacy price / quality; - a good lens for portraits.
Cons
  • - at 1.4 the sharpness is mediocre; - XA from F / 1.4 - F / 2; - beautiful bokeh only at 1.4. Starting from F / 1,6, the bokeh turns the nuts, and the picture itself is not very beautiful; - color rendition and contrast - it is not.
